FAQs
What is Therapy?
Therapy is the process of meeting with a therapist to resolve emotional issues, problematic behaviors and/or beliefs, relationship issues, and/or family issues. In therapy, goals that are unique to you will be established and steps will be taken to achieve them. Therapy is a process and a relationship where you will be supported, listened to, respected, and given appropriate feedback. We use different techniques and modalities to help unravel painful issues and provide you with effective tools to help you experience lasting change.
When Will I See Results?
In some cases, changes can be seen as soon as after the first session. However, it typically takes between 6-12 sessions to experience the start of lasting change. Therapy requires work, inside and outside of the office, for clients. So, the more effort put in, the better and faster the results.
How Long Will I Be In Therapy?
Each session is typically 50 minutes to 1 hour. Longer sessions can be provided upon request. Therapy is typically terminated after the goals that are set in the first session are achieved. As stated above, goal achievement usually occurs within 12 sessions. Following goal achievement, clients typically come in for check-up sessions to ensure continued success and growth in their lives and their relationships.
